Detailed information about NADEZHDA 1 satellite

Description of NADEZHDA 1 Satellite:

Flown for the first time with a designator other than Cosmos, the Nadezhda civil navigation satellite lifted off from Plesetsk by a Cosmos C-1 booster. Carrying transponders for the COSPAS/SARSAT international search and rescue system, the satellite was also designated COSPAS 4. It was a cylinder, 2 m in diameter, 2.1 m long, with an extended boom. It was co-planar with Cosmos 1791 and, presumably, replaced it.
